#CougsCancelCovid

While the majority of students, faculty, and staff moved to remote learning/working in March of 2020, a significant amount of people had to continue coming to campus for jobs, research, and other tasks that could not be done remotely. We also knew that Pullman was a hotbed of COVID cases, having far more than the state average. We took on the task of educating our community and convincing them to take this virus seriously. And to do that, we were blunt. Sometimes the best way to get the attention of students is to give them something they'd never expect from an institution of higher learning: questionable puns and mild cursing.

This campaign centered around 18x24" yard signs placed around campus and was quite successful! While many faculty and staff questioned the approach, it was well-received by the students who were our main target audience. And beyond that, it gained national recognition in the higher education sphere for it's effectiveness.
