Orton Hall Murals
In Summer 2024, WSU Housing did a refresh on one of the old halls, Orton; the sister hall to Rogers which was refreshed the previous year. We created multiple murals for the entrances, lobbies, and lounges. We went for a softer theme this time and used the daffodil illustration as a jumping off point. We decided to feature a mix of local WSU landmarks and plants native to the Palouse region.
For Rogers, my co-designer Cadence Moffitt and I worked closely together but had ownership of our own parts. For Orton, this was a true collaboration: every piece was worked on by both of us. I took the lead on the illustrations (two were adjusted stock images, the rest were referenced from photos), Cadi took the lead on the backgrounds, and we assembled them together. I am very proud of this project and I think it succeeded everywhere that I felt Rogers lacked.
