Down Under Recreation Center Murals

The large three-tower residence hall complex at Washington State University, Stephenson Towers, converted a portion of it's lower level into a fitness center in 2016. As the location was down a dingy, dark hallway in a place most students never thought to look, we were tasked with creating a series of murals to brighten up the area and to draw students down to it while also providing wayfinding. These murals included a 20+ foot tall photo in a large stairwell, an alcove graphic, and a series of graphics for walls and the columns between them. We had to use images that would not look out of place in the next 10-15 years and have a cohesive look, feel, and scheme between them.

This project won 2nd place at the 2017 NIRSA Creative Excellence Awards in the Large Scale Graphics category.
